James Sunderland has joined other local MPs in writing to the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport in support of Reading football club and its fans. In their letter, the MPs are calling on the Government to make representations to the English Football League to prevent further points deductions at Reading, ensure measures in the Football Governance White Paper are included in the King’s Speech in November and, ahead of legislative changes, stand up a Shadow regulator for football and use Reading FC as a pilot.
James said:
“Reading FC is a fantastic local club and needs our support as MPs. I have today written with colleagues to the Secretary of State Lucy Frazer to ask that further action is taken by the Government and the EFL.
“Our fans deserve better!”
