James Sunderland makes a statement in respect of Andrew McBride.

“I have been made aware of allegations in respect of Andrew McBride, the ex-Conservative candidate for Bracknell Town Council. I do not know Mr McBride well and was not personally involved in the selection process for any of our prospective councillors. Extremism has no place in the Conservative Party so I am pleased that Bracknell Conservative Association has moved swiftly to deal with it. Mr McBride has now been suspended, pending an investigation, and is unlikely to have the Whip restored in the event that he is elected. The local Conservative offer for Bracknell is exceptional, we have the most diverse group of local candidates ever and our election campaign will continue to proudly focus on the many positives.”
