James Sunderland thanks Sainsbury's, Thames Valley Police, Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Thames Valley and Bracknell Forest Council for listening to the people of Bracknell.
He said:
“We need to get a grip of anti-social driving, speeding and noise nuisance in the town.
“Following conversations with Sainsbury's they moved swiftly with the Council and Thames Valley Police to introduce measures to resolve the issue.
“I am pleased to report that Sainsbury's and their partners have devised and implemented a plan that will help prevent future issues of this nature in Bracknell. These include:
1. Deploying car park marshals in the car park at weekends for the remainder of this month in order to manage and deter inappropriate behaviour in our car park.
2. Monitoring the store remotely from our security operations centre throughout the evening at weekends.
3. Deploying a 'mobile disruption unit' in the store car park, which will act as a visible deterrent and record CCTV that can be used to provide evidence for the police if required.
4. Consider Installing Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) and other signage applying in- and out-of-hours restrictions around the car park within the next 2-3 weeks.
5. Installing a permanent ANPR system to allow Sainsbury's to pursue recorded violations of said car park restrictions.
“Thank you to the all the ward councillors of Hanworth and Crown Wood & Forest Park who have supported residents to get some action.
“I will be meeting Sainsbury and Thames Valley Police to follow-up on these actions.”
