James Sunderland backs the Government’s plans to radically reform the governance of men’s football in England, reiterating its commitment to fans to deliver a sustainable future for the game.

James said:

“As a football fan I am pleased that the Government is taking the lead to ensure proper governance of football clubs for the benefit of fans. For too long fans have not had sufficient say in their clubs and we must protect the Premier League and Football League. 

“The Premier League and Championship are two the top five leagues in Europe for fan attendance. Owners and proposed owners and directors must must assessed against better integrity tests to ensure the sustainability of the clubs.

“Football is our national sport and must be protected to ensure a bright and successful future.”
