James Sunderland questions Government on UK response to the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan
Following the Government response to an Urgent Question on the UK response to the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, James Sunderland asks about a UK physical presence in Kabul.
James Sunderland (Bracknell) (Con)
The Minister will know that true political influence comes from having a physical presence. Could she please confirm what the FCDO physically has on the ground in Kabul, and whether that footprint will increase?
Vicky Ford (The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs)
I am afraid I am not at liberty to discuss individual situations, especially those of local charities, for example, because I have been told that to do so could put them at risk.
