James Sunderland has welcomed the publication of the Government's Green Paper on the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and alternative provision (AP) system in England.

He said:

“I am pleased with the Government's new plans to improve support for children with special educational needs and disabilities and alternative provision. The consultation seeks views on changing practice across education, health and care for a more inclusive system and I would encourage people who have an interest to take part.

“The Government wants to hear from a wide range of people; parents and carers, children and young people and people working in the sector.

“Closing date is 1 July 2022.”
