James Sunderland MP has welcomed the Holocaust Memorial Trust launch of new resources to mark Holocaust Memorial Day 2023 and is encouraging local young artists to enter the new youth arts competition, [Extra]Ordinary Portraits, being held in partnership with the Royal Drawing School.
Attendees at the launch heard from award-winning artist, Gideon Summerfield, and Antoinette Mutabazi, a survivor of the genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, who are both on the judging panel for the competition. They discussed the power of art as a tool for Holocaust and genocide education and gave advice to those planning on entering the competition.
[Extra]Ordinary Portraits is a portrait project and competition open to anyone in the UK aged 25 and under click here to find out more.
