James Sunderland encourages local charities to apply for a Tesco Community Grant. Every three months community groups and charities across the UK can apply for a grant of up to £1,500 from the total pot of £2m for each period.

Any charity or community group can apply and Groundwork, an expert community charity who manage the scheme, will be able to advise on eligibility through the application process. The final projects that receive grants will be chosen through customer voting in-store. 

The new scheme builds on the success of our previous community grant scheme, Bags of Help, which has supported more than 36,000 local projects with over £85m of grants since 2016.  

In addition, Tesco have announced that they are holding an additional Tesco Food Collection to help their food partner charities the Trussell Trust and FareShare support young people and families with food this summer. The additional collection will take place in large Tesco stores from July 15 to 17 and in Tesco Express stores from July 12 to August 28.
