Local MP James Sunderland congratulates Bracknell Town reaching the First Round Proper of the Emirates FA Cup.
He said:
“It was a real privilege to be back at Bottom Meadow, Sandhurst to watch Bracknell Town FC beat Banbury United 2 - 1 in the 4th Qualifying Round of the Cup. A fantastic and gritty performance from a young team playing out of their skin has earned them a place in the 1st Round Proper for the first time in 22 years!
“Well done to all the players, management, support staff and to team owner Kayne Steinborn, who was anxiously chewing his nails during a frenetic last 15 mins. As someone who avidly watches non-league football most weekends, I know that this is a super achievement for Bracknell and all part of the plan to get our exciting club into the Football League. I also hope that we can join forces with Bracknell Forest Council and private investors to bring the aspiration for a new sports centre and football stadium in Bracknell to reality.”
