World Book Day Short Story Competition

James Sunderland attends an event in Parliament to promote World Book Day on Thursday 3 March and launches a short story competition in the Bracknell constituency.

He said:

“I know that reading books with your children and grandchildren is an important part of their learning and mental health.

So as part of World Book Day I am asking children to send me their short stories.

The theme of the story is about Bracknell Forest and must is include the sentence “Everyone at the Lookout stopped and….’’

Please email your entries to me at James.Sunderland.mp@parliament.uk before the 25th March, by a parent, guardian or teacher and should include the following:

Name of the child and parent/guardian

  • Age of entrant
  • Their full address
  • The email address or their parent/ guardian
  • Their short story;
  • Up to a maximum of 250 words for year groups: 1,2 & 3
  • Up to a maximum of 500 works for year groups: 4,5 & 6

I will pick two winners, one from year groups 1,2 & 3 and one from year groups 4,5 & 6, who will each receive a book voucher to use in the Lexicon.”
